Two days of fun, community and beauty.

Posters Still Available

This year’s poster artist, Kana Handel, created an image that many Spring Arts Festival attendees called their favorite poster image in years. Handel worked in mixed media using Japanese dry pigments from nature, sumi-e ink, watercolor, and paper collage to create the vibrant and peaceful image “Many Moons Over the Prairie” for this year’s festival.

Posters are still available for $15 each. Call the Spring Arts office at 352-395-5355 to purchase.

Join the expected 100,000 visitors at the 43rd Annual Santa Fe College Spring Arts Festival, North Central Florida’s longest running arts festival, to enjoy beautiful sunshine, world-class art, live jazz, and free children’s activities. For two days each year, downtown Gainesville becomes a cultural destination as SF Spring Arts transforms historic NE 1st Street and the lawn of the Thomas Center into a family-friendly art festival. Hours are 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Saturday, April 14 and noon-5:30 p.m. Sunday, April 15 rain or shine. Admission is free.

Top artists from across the United States present sculpture, printmaking, painting, 2-D and 3-D mixed media, jewelry, photography, drawing, watercolor, wood, fiber, and glass. This juried show has more than $20,000 in awards and purchase awards.

Local artist Kana Handel created the official 43rd Annual Spring Arts Festival poster design featuring a mixed media image. Posters will be available for sale during the festival and Ms. Handel will be on site to personalize your poster. T-shirts featuring the poster art will also be available for purchase at the information booth of the festival.

The festival is also part of Gainesville’s first Primavera Festival, a community effort to build new event audiences and put Gainesville on the cultural destination map. Join us for an unforgettable weekend!
